Dende Collective

Wandsworth’s cultural scene is incredibly vibrant, diverse, and rooted in community. We love how it supports creativity at all levels-from grassroots groups to established organisations—and brings people together through bold, inclusive events like WAF and the London Borough of Culture. The borough’s openness to experimentation and its celebration of local voices create a genuine sense of belonging, which is what makes working here so special.

Dendê Collective is a London-based theatre charity working at the intersection of performance, community, and cultural exchange. We create vibrant, inclusive projects that bring people together across generations and backgrounds to celebrate creativity, storytelling, and joyful connection. Since 2000, we’ve delivered a range of participatory arts programmes across London and beyond- from street theatre and clowning to mask-making, panto, and intergenerational performance. Our work with the 60+ community in Westminster has spanned more than 7 years, and 2025 marks our first major programme in Wandsworth with The Wandsworth Masquerade. We are passionate about creating accessible, imaginative spaces where people can meet, play, express themselves, and build confidence. No experience needed- just a willingness to explore!
