Sonja Bessant Jewellery
Wandsworth is such a diverse, lively and arts-focused borough; I'm very lucky to call Wandsworth and Balham my home turf. I particularly like a fun comedy night at the Bedford or follow the Wandsworth Arts Trail and connect with artists in their studios.
Hello there!
My name is Sonja, and I'm a jewellery designer-maker based in lovely Balham. Working in sterling silver and gold, each piece is carefully crafted by hand with attention to detail to ensure unparalleled quality. My jewellery is handmade by myself using a range of contemporary and traditional jewellery making techniques. I love creating bespoke pieces and regularly take on commissions. Being sustainable is high on my agenda; I often remodel heirloom pieces or recycle gold and silver as well as stones from unworn jewellery.
London, as a big, bustling city with its fabulous architecture certainly inspires my collections a great deal. I’ve always been drawn to clean lines and simple shapes, and these are often reflected in my jewellery. But also, contrastingly, the simple beauty of nature, its incredible structures and natural patterns inspire me a great deal. I love a stroll in Tooting Common and be inspired by the change in seasons.
